Handling B3 dosimeters

Overview

Remove the dosimeter from original package before measurement.

  • The package has a tear-open notch at the top.

  • Carefully tear or cut package to open.

Do not touch B3 film with bare fingers.

  • Handle the dosimeter on the paper frame.

  • Or use gloves.

Gently clean dosimeter film before measurement.

  • Remove any fingerprints, oil or smudges from the film surface.

  • Remove visible particulate with a soft brush or piece of soft anti-static cloth.

  • Gently tapping or ‘flicking’ the dosimeter can also dislodge particulate.
