DoseControl Software

Pre-installation Tasks

How DoseControl works

DoseControl software is installed on a computer and connects to a Microsoft SQL Server database using a connection string entered into the software. DoseControl data is stored in its application database. This allows you to manage, backup, restore, and maintain permanent records of your dosimetry data!

To setup DoseControl, you must do the following:

  1. Install/setup Microsoft SQL Server

  2. Install DoseControl software on a computer

  3. You will connect the DoseControl software on the computer to the SQL Server using a ‘connection string'. During the DoseControl installation process, you will be prompted to enter a ‘connection string’ in the software. DoseControl will verify a successful connection to the server.

  4. Upon first launch of the DoseControl software, DoseControl will automatically build the application database on the connected MS SQL server.

  5. After you successfully connect to the database, DoseControl will prompt you to create your global administrator password. The default username is ‘admin’ and the default password is ‘admin’. You must update the global administrator password and restart the software.

  6. Once you have completed the database connection and global admin user setup, you can configure the dosimetry items in the software.
